Richard Brabant

 

Richard was admitted to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1972, and commenced practising in the specialist field of Town Planning (as it then was) in the 1970s.  

He was an elected member of the Auckland Regional Authority between 1979 – 1985.

In 1992 he became a barrister, specialising in Environmental and Local Government law. 

Over some 40 years of practice in the environmental law field, Richard has given advice to and appeared for a wide range of private and corporate clients, local authorities, and national and local societies/associations and community organisations.

He has appeared before local authorities throughout New Zealand, and on numerous occasions before the Environment Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

Richard has now retired from active legal practice. Clients he has acted for in the past can if they wish contact him for advice about an alternative barrister to represent them.
